چکیده
Abstract Human–computer interaction (HCI) is particularly interesting because full-immersive technology may be approached differently by users, depending on the complexity of interaction, users’ personality traits, and their motivational systems inclination. Therefore, this study investigated relationship between psychological factors attention towards specific tech-interactions in a smart home system (SHS). The relation personal traits eye-tracking metrics through self-report measures [locus control (LoC), user experience (UX), behavioral inhibition (BIS) activation (BAS)] wearable wireless near-infrared illumination based applied to an Italian sample (n = 19). Participants were asked activate interact with five different tech-interaction areas levels (entrance, kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom) (SHS), while eye-gaze behavior was recorded. Data showed significant differences simpler (entrance) more complex one (living room), terms number fixation. Moreover, slower time first fixation multifaceted (bathroom), compared ones (kitchen room) found. Additionally, two conditions room bathroom), negative correlations found external LoC count, BAS reward responsiveness scores duration. Findings led identification two-way process, where both subjects’ are important impacting user’s visual exploration behavior. This research contributes understand adding insights that help create human-centered technology.

Geometric Eye Gaze Tracking
This paper presents a novel eye gaze estimation method based on calculating the gaze vector in a geometric approach. There have been many publications in the topic of eye gaze estimation, but most are related to using dedicated infra red equipment and corneal glints. The presented approach, on the other hand, assumes that only an RGB input image of the user’s face is available. Furthermore, it ...
متن کاملSubpixel Eye Gaze Tracking
This paper addresses the accuracy problem of an eye gaze tracking system. We first analyze the technical barrier for a gaze tracking system to achieve desired accuracy, and then propose a subpixel tracking method to break the barrier. We present new algorithms for detecting the inner eye corner and the center of an iris in subpixel accuracy, and we apply these new methods in developing a real-t...
متن کاملEye Gaze Tracking for HCI
With a growing number of computer devices around us, and the increasing time we spend for interacting with such devices, we are strongly interested in finding new interaction methods which ease the use of computers or increase interaction efficiency. Eye tracking seems to be a promising technology to achieve this goal. This thesis researches interaction methods based on eye-tracking technology....
متن کاملTracking Eyes and Monitoring Eye Gaze
In this paper, we present a non-intrusive eye tracker which can detect and track a user's eyes in real time as soon as the face appears in the view of the camera without special lighting or any marks on the user's face. We also discuss the problem of gaze monitoring. We employ neural networks to estimate a user's eye gaze using the images of user's both eyes as input to the neural networks. We ...
متن کاملAutomatic Cursor Movement with Eye Gaze Tracking
Most of the eye tracking devices is based on computer vision imaging systems. This paper presents a complete system for eye tracking through avoiding the restrictions that are caused due to the head movements. The Viola-Jones algorithm, in combination with Kalman Filtering, is utilized for detecting and tracking the face. The Viola –Jones-based eye tracker that is employed here offers eye track...
